The article "Extreme precipitation events over northern Italy. Part I: A systematic classification with machine-learning techniques" by Federico Grazzini, George Craig, Christian Keil, Gabriele Antolini and Valentina Pavan was one of the top-cited papers in the Quarterly Journal of Royal Meteorological Society over the period 01/01/2020 and 31/12/2021.

This is a nice result of fruitful work within W2W, and in particular between the LMU and the collaborating partner ARPAE. Federico Grazzini is looking forward to implementing the EPE classification scheme operationally in ARPAE in the framework of the new transfer project T2.
