ECS Workshop (Jun. 2016)
The 2nd Early Career Scientists Workshop took place from June 6-9th 2016 in Kaub.
The ECS presented their early results and gained a better insight into the other W2W projects. The presentations triggered many interesting and lively discussions. This workshop provided the opportunity to pursue ongoing collaborations and to suggest new collaborations.
Ulrich Blahak (DWD) has been invited to present the COSMO model. He conducted a hands-on programming session for model extensions. Heiner Lange (LMU) has been invited to present the COSMO tools he has developed. In addition, Robert Redl introduced the version control system git and the possibilities it offers for collaborative coding. A few non-W2W participants also took part in the workshop.
After a dense scientific program, the participants went on a hike along the Rhine and enjoyed a wine tasting and an evening dinner in Lorch. This workshop has been very stimulating and has allowed the ECS to get to know each other better.
